‘Sparkling like the Homeric seas’

A rather stormy piece of music came onto the radio this morning (didn’t hear who by), which the presenter described, quoting a musicologist, as ‘passing from key to key beneath a tumultuous surface sparkling like the Homeric seas.’ What a great image, and exactly right for whatever it was. Ok, back to work…
